[Report] Hi, there are detailed instructions how to install included with the readme.txt and also a visual quick_install.jpg for the impatient. Let me know if there are any problems. Cheers!
Matthewbird 24 Nov 2018 23:23:54
[Report] How do you install this?
groundhog 30 Jun 2016 22:00:53
[Report] Unfortunately, no. The map is not part of the texture files, so I cannot change it.
CSX2057 24 Jun 2016 01:59:46
[Report] Is there anyway to remove the map below? I hate knowing where speed limits is located.
groundhog 05 Mar 2016 23:23:22
[Report] Yes it works with TS2016.
brando451 01 Mar 2016 05:23:59
[Report] Will this work with TS16 ?
groundhog 07 Jan 2015 15:50:44
[Report] Unfortunately, yes, you will get problems using this mod in simple controls mode. You will get a number of missing or misplaced HUD textures(invisible throttle/brake lever, for example). If you would like to check out the mod anyway, I strongly recommend to make a backup of the original files before copying the new textures into the frontend folder.

[Report] You state in your 'Read Me' that this modification is designed to work only with the EXPERT control scheme, but, I like to use both modes, can I still install this regardless, or, will overwriting the textures in the frontend folder give me any problems, when I go into simple mode, please?
groundhog 15 Mar 2014 22:30:27
[Report] I'd love to, but unfortunately that's not possible. The way the HUD works seems to be hard-coded and thus RSC/DTG would have to add such a feature themselves. For now, I can only change the look of the HUD, but not the type of information displayed, sorry.

[Report] Would it be possible for example the 86/87 locos to put the "notch" meter and power gauges on the HUD? Say where the steam gauges would be, just I have to rotate and twist the view slightly to be able to see the two which makes my forward view a little squiffy.

[Report] Thank you.
groundhog 23 Jan 2014 20:39:48
[Report] No problem, glad to be of help. The F3 HUD uses a smaller version of the sunflower alerter, the same size as the emergency brake button. The icon remains invisible unless the AWS goes off. Of course, you could simply download the mod and see for yourself. ;)
749006 23 Jan 2014 18:14:52
[Report] Sorry - another question. In the current F3 HUD there is an Icon for the AWS or equivalent, looks like a square, which lights up when passing over a magnet for a red/yellow signal. Is there something on your F3 HUD? Thanks.
groundhog 11 Jan 2014 19:55:29
[Report] Yes that's how it works. Consider it to show the 'immediate' state of the in-cab AWS display. The problem with the game's HUD is that it only knows two states: AWS on or off, therefore the HUD would show the yellow spikes even when going past a 'clear' signal. I found it to be less of a stretch and more noticeable this way around.
749006 11 Jan 2014 18:08:42
[Report] Groundhog. Yes, I know what the AWS is, what it lloks like. I was asking what is displayed. From your reply I gather it works the opposite way to a Real AWS - IE shows Sunflower when it requires cancelling and Black when cancelled.
LionelMarco 11 Jan 2014 12:04:15
[Report] Thanks for this less intrusive HUD.
andymar54 11 Jan 2014 09:53:04
[Report] This is a big improvement for the HUD and looks much neater and modern. Thanks for uploading this for us all to use.
clivejames1st 10 Jan 2014 22:02:43
[Report] I do not use it very often but it is a considerable improvement on the original. Thanks for this, much appreciated.
Wikkus 10 Jan 2014 19:06:52
[Report] I hate HUD mode and still rue the day that RSC inflicted it upon us, but this mod makes it more bearable :) Bravo!
groundhog 10 Jan 2014 18:48:43
[Report] @749006: the AWS alerter is the big black and yellow disk on the right (inspired by the sunflower alerter in UK locomotives). In the off state, it is plain black (which can be seen in the second picture).
Smarty2 10 Jan 2014 18:26:33
[Report] Excellent, thanks very much.
749006 10 Jan 2014 17:56:18
[Report] They do look a lot neater and I like the Cup for the Pause. A question. In the F4 HUD when you go over an AWS magnet and the horn sounds you get the Big Square with the hatchings - which disappears when you cancel the AWS. What happens in this version?
