I used this patch after publishing a scenario using the "Duchess" on the Somerset and Dorset line. Before the patch, I had to reduce the number of carriages and keep the regulator and cut-off to modest values to enable the train to crest the 1:50 summit at Masbury. After installing the patch, the load could be doubled and I was able to use realistic regulator and cut-off settings to reach the summit in much less time. Better cab view too ! Makes the Duchess a pleasure to drive ! Many Thanks arhind 21 Sep 2014 20:15:33 [Report] A really nice modification. The brakes, the cab views, the rolling resistance are all great. My only thought is that the steaming is just too free and rather like an electric kettle!! I've re modified my boiler efficiency back to 1.0 (it was 0.78 in the original and is changed to 1.2 in this patch) and I think it's much more realistic. But a nice patch all the same. Many thanks. JLD95 21 Sep 2014 04:09:16 [Report] thank you for this patch Dodgydruid 30 Aug 2014 22:42:12 [Report] Drove mine on challenging tracks like WCML North and gained startling performance, the only niggle left is the high water consumption, nearly a full tender by time got to Glasgow but I was going flat out at 100+ with an easily managed full head of steam. I have put some screenshots up on user Dodgydruid over on Steam to show boiler pressures and speeds to show how well its working now.
