Your solution sounds novel.I didn't know about pressing the space bar etc. Thanks again. The edit itself was easy, albeit fiddle in places, to do: simply a matter of selecting sections of track (selection tool, left hand flyout) and changing the electrification property in the right hand flyout. I found it easier to change what the game would let me select rather than struggling to select what I wanted--having the view under the wires helped here and pressing the space bar enough times to bring up the "live wire arrow" marking on the track showed bits I'd missed which needed attention.
