The one at Carnforth should have a shunt signal to allow access from the Down Freight Loop to the Sidings - the Home signal is for access to the main lines. The one at Oxenholme can be TABBED (ie you are asking control for permission - usually approved). If there is no response to a TAB, then it is usually assumed that there is approval.
